OMIC INTERNATIONAL LTD.
was incorporated in 1984 specifically to perform Nigerian Government Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) as an affiliate company of OMIC (the largest comprehensive international inspection company in Japan) in partnership with Cotecna (Switzerland based Inspection Company) in those days.
Since then, OMIC International Ltd. has been providing the Government Mandatory PSI services to a number of countries solely or in association with other inspection companies such as Ghana Link and Baltic Control besides Cotecna, fully mobilizing the world-wide network of the parent company OMIC.
OMIC (Overseas Merchandise Inspection Co., ltd.) was established in 1954 and has been providing comprehensive cargo inspection services through its network over the world. (Please refer to OMIC's website.)

What is WTO-PSI:
WTO agreement on Pre-Shipment Inspection (WTO-PSI) is an economic program for the monitoring of imports into developing countries. It has positive impact on the national budget, terms of trade, balance of payments and general economic development of the PSI participating countries.
Merits of WTO-PSI Services:
The countries, which have adopted the WTO-PSI programs, are receiving the following advantages:
* Enhancement of Import Tax RevenuePSI Services Encompass:
1. Pre-Shipment Inspection
Pre-Shipment Inspection of goods is carried out in the country of supply to ensure that their quality and quantity meet with contractual requirements.
2. Price Verification
Contractual prices are verified based upon the results of physical inspection and the export prices in the country of supply in order to prevent under valuation / over invoicing.
3. Classification of Import Codes
The Import Tariff Code is assigned to the goods as per the Customs Tariff Code Book of the relevant PSI country. This enables easy reference for calculation of dutiable taxes on Imports by the Customs.
4. Report of Findings (ROF)
A Report of Findings (ROF) is issued, summarizing results of the Pre-Shipment Inspection, Price Verification and Import Tariff Code Classification, and submitted to the Importer and/or Exporter.
